Thanks for visiting my corner of the web.

This website/blog is personal. Here I’d like to explore those interests that might be orthogonal to the practice of law, but do not necessarily relate directly to my representation of a client in a particular case. It is my sincerest belief that the lawyer’s craft is greater than any particular case or dispute or engagement. A lawyer’s craft inspires the practice of law and gives it shape and meaning. It’s what we mean when we say that law is a profession, and that’s where I’d like to focus.

Of course, this site is “A Lawyer’s Craft.” It does not aim at finality. It is entirely subjective. Hopefully that doesn’t make it less useful.

So what do I plan to discuss? As a past chair of the State Bar of Texas’ Computer and Technology Section, I will certainly talk about the intersection of law and technology. And as a practicing trial lawyer, I will certainly talk about that. But I’d also like to explore psychology, philosophy, finances, literature, writing, and culture.

Welcome.
